RGV's RANN is more of a serious movie. The movie which makes you scratch your mind, makes u think. It may prove to be an off for those who love bollywood tadkedaar masala and gossip kinda movies. Its a powerful film which takes you to a world which is their around you but of which you are generally not aware. Amitabh Bachchan has given a marvellous performance once again. His dialogue delivery, expressions and personality proves to be a made-for-this-character thing! You can notice the betterment in Ritesh's performance.Infact he did some scenes very very well and made them remarkable.Paresh Rawal proved himself and was at his best once again.Gul Panag ,Neetu Chandra and Suchitra Krishnamoorthy did their parts very well and looked very natural.Rajpal Yadav's personality suits for the funny moments and he did justice to them. The writeup is again a simple one for a complicated subject which makes it easy to produce. Its very convincing i must say.Dialogues are very dynamic and powerful. The backgrounds in various scenes heightened the impact and feel of the movie which is a very crucial part. At the end i must say that go and watch it.Its a perfect piece of good acting and something very sensible and serious subject. Synopsis
Vijay Harshvardhan Malik [Amitabh Bachchan] is the founder of a private news channel, India 24/7. A hardcore upholder of journalistic ethics, his channel is battling for survival. Jay [Sudeep], his son, looks at his father's news channel purely as a business enterprise that must make profits to justify its existence. He hates that his competition [Mohnish Bahl] is doing better than him. The story takes a turn when a corrupt politician, Mohan Pandey [Paresh Rawal], decides to use the channel to his advantage by using Vijay's son-in-law Navin [Rajat Kapoor]. Pandey aspires to be the Prime Minister and indulges in a vicious campaign against his political opponent. Navin is the most insecure man on earth and won't rest till he becomes the number one industrialist in the country. He, in turn, involves his brother-in-law Jay in Pandey's game plan
